According to sources, after carrying out COVID-19 tests with the help of test systems supplied from Russia on March 12, cases of patients infected with Coronavirus (COVID-19) were detected in Turkmenistan.
To prevent the dissemination of information, doctors at all clinics had their phones seized upon arrival to work. Phones are seized at the entrance of the clinic. This is done in order to prevent photo and video leaks. At the same time, based on the most recent reports, the borders of the capital and surrounding regions are closed. It is strictly forbidden to leave and enter the capital further than Annau territory. Upon exiting the capital, Ashgabat, a checkpoint was put up. It is also reported that students have had their spring break extended until April 1, 2020.
